Biography

Trained as an epidemiologist, Dr. Yudkin’s research focuses on behavioral interventions for cardiometabolic diseases over the life course for vulnerable populations. Currently, his research focuses on eHealth solutions for pediatric overweight and obesity both in the United States and abroad.  Methodologically, he is very interested in (1) how we quantify socio-cultural variables and (2) implementation science methodologies.  He is a strong believer in transdisciplinary collaboration. Most of his work involves prospective, multi-level, and multipronged research designs.

As a postdoctoral fellow supported by the Fogarty International Center, Dr. Yudkin led research in the Dominican Republic. During his doctoral training, he was awarded a Fulbright research grant to support research in Colombia. These efforts complimented his dissertation research focused on pediatric populations right here in Texas.

Education, mentorship, and growth are key components to his educational and research philosophies.  He believes learning is a lifelong and reflexive journey, and he is so grateful for the mentors and mentees he has had along his journey to date. In fact, as a polyglot, he engages in both research, teaching, and mentorship across the globe in various languages.

At his core, Dr. Yudkin is passionate about leaving the world better than he found it. He is a strong believer in empowering people to empower themselves, making sure everyone has access to quality healthcare, and everyone is treated with the respect and dignity that they deserve.
