How to Apply

Undergraduate Requirements

ApplyTexas Application

Applicants wishing to submit an application to the Bachelor of Science in Public Health (BSPH) degree program will apply through ApplyTexas.

Detailed information on freshman and transfer application submissions can be found on the Texas A&M Office of Admissions website.

Graduate Requirements

Applicants must submit all necessary documents by the posted deadline in order to be reviewed for admission. International applicants should review the International Applicant information for additional requirements.

SOPHAS Application and Application Fee

Applicants must complete their application and submit it to SOPHAS along with all related application fees

Letters of Recommendation

Three letters of recommendation are required for a complete application. 

  • Provide at least one academic reference from a higher education institution and one professional reference. The remaining letter may be either academic or professional.
  • Preferably, the academic reference should come from one of the applicant's course instructors who can attest to the applicant's capability to pursue graduate studies.
  • Recommendation letters from family members and friends are not appropriate.
  • Letters must be submitted electronically directly to SOPHAS.

Statement of Purpose

In addition to describing why you want to pursue the chosen degree plan/concentration and attend the School of Public Health, we recommend addressing the following topics in your statement of purpose:

  • Reason for interest in public health
  • Reason for interest in academic department or concentration
  • Reason for interest in the school
  • Career goals
  • Personal qualities, characteristics, and skills you believe will enable you to be successful in your chosen field of study.

A current Curriculum Vitae or Resume

Official Transcripts

Official transcripts from each U.S. and English-speaking Canadian college-level institution attended must be sent to SOPHAS. The School of Public Health cannot accept official transcripts on behalf of SOPHAS.

A World Education Services (WES) ICAP Course-by-Course evaluation of academic records from institutions outside the U.S. and English-speaking Canada (if applicable) is required.

Official Test Scores

Official test scores (GRE or GMAT) are no longer required.
