Biography
Kelly Cox, M.Ed., joined the School of Public Health in January 2026 as the Director of Accountability and Strategic Initiatives. In this role, she provides strategic and operational leadership in support of the school’s mission and vision, coordinates assessment efforts across the school, and ensures accountability to university and school processes as well as to external accrediting bodies.
Cox began her career at Texas A&M University in August 2007, serving in the Memorial Student Center where she advised several leadership student organizations. In August 2010, she transitioned to Student Affairs Planning, Assessment & Research, where she led assessment and research initiatives for the Division of Student Affairs.
Prior to her work at Texas A&M, Cox held roles overseeing student orientation and leadership development at both the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UTK) and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). She also brings more than 10 years of experience in Residence Life, spanning her undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate years.
Throughout the early part of her professional career, Cox focused extensively on supporting first-year students, including teaching First-Year Experience courses at both UNLV and UTK. Creating meaningful learning environments and assessing student learning have long been central to her work and ultimately led her to pursue assessment as a full-time professional focus.
Cox earned a Bachelor of Science in Business with an emphasis in Finance and Management from the University of Nebraska at Kearney and a Master of Education in Higher Education from the University of Wisconsin–Platteville.
