Biography
Claire Baetge has a background in exercise physiology, with her past research interests focusing on physical activity and nutrition in women’s health. Through the years, it has expanded to focus on lifestyle medicine, including physical activity and nutrition as it relates to decreasing chronic disease. Within the classroom, she emphasizes a whole-health approach to developing a healthy lifestyle. She has taught numerous health courses, with recent courses including an introductory health course, consumer health, and a pre-internship course. Much of her prior ten years of teaching also included creating online courses and implementing best practices for online curriculum at various universities. Dr. Baetge currently serves as the Community Health Pre-Internship Coordinator and assists with preparing community health students for their professional internship. Dr. Baetge also holds a certification as a Certified Sports Nutritionist through the International Society of Sports Nutrition, as well as a Mental Health First Aid Certification through the National Council for Mental Wellbeing.Education and Training
