School of Public Health Scholarships
The Texas A&M University School of Public Health wishes to extend a thank you to the many individuals and organizations who contribute to SPH scholarships. Without their commitment, the scholarships listed below would not be available each year to students enrolled at the School of Public Health.
Scholarships/Applications for Graduate Students
The average graduate SPH scholarship award ranges from $1,000 - $4,000 per academic year. An eligible* degree seeking, non-resident (out of state or international) graduate student receiving a competitive scholarship of at least $1,000 for the academic year may qualify for a Competitive Scholarship Non-Resident Tuition Waiver.
- Receipt of a non-resident tuition waiver will allow eligible non-resident students to pay the fees and charges required of Texas residents without regard to the length of time the student has resided in Texas.
- *Non-resident distance education students who reside outside the state of Texas pay an administrative and teaching fee in place of non-resident tuition, and are not eligible for this or other non-resident tuition waivers.
Currently enrolled graduate students, who will continue enrollment in their current program for the next academic year, are required to complete the Texas A&M University Scholarship Application for Continuing Students and the application found at TAMSPH Scholarship/Training Grant Application Portal.
- The deadline for currently enrolled/continuing students to complete the Texas A&M University Scholarship Application for Continuing Students is February 1st of each year, for the subsequent academic year. This application typically opens on October 15th of each year.
- The deadline for currently enrolled/continuing students to complete the TAMSPH Scholarship/Training Grant Application Portal supplemental application for 26-27 academic year consideration is April 15, 2026.
- Scholarships for currently enrolled/continuing students are very limited and will not be awarded until June.
New, incoming graduate students currently applying to the School of Public Health with plans to enroll in Fall 2026 will complete the “General SPH Scholarship Application” as part of the application (SOPHAS, HAMPCAS, or SOPHAS Express) they used for admission.
- The scholarship review process occurs separately from the admission review process.
- Admitted applicants that completed the Texas A&M SPH General Scholarship Application in its entirety as part of the admission process will be reviewed by the TAMU SPH Scholarship Committee to be considered for general school/department level scholarship support.
- Scholarships for newly admitted graduate students are awarded on a rolling basis throughout the admissions application cycle. For the best chance of award consideration, apply early.
- For Fall 2026 admits, the scholarship review process will begin in January 2026 and will continue throughout the final application deadline, with priority given to applicants who apply early.
- Texas A&M University is a Council of Graduate School (CGS) member institution and a signatory of the April 15 Resolution Regarding Graduate Scholars, Fellows, Trainees, & Assistants. The resolution states “Students are under no obligation to respond to offers of financial support prior to April 15; earlier deadlines for acceptance of such offers violate the intent of this Resolution.”
